Paul will introduce you to the most common tools in the shop and assure you understand how to operate each of them safely. You will also learn the essentials about wood grain and movement as you move through the milling process. Students will be paired up during the class, and will leave with a cutting/cheese board that will be a joy to show off This is a hands-on class so come ready to get dirty, have some fun, and create something beautiful!!! After some open discussion about how a router can be an asset in your shop, you will move into actual operation. This is a hands-on class where you will learn proper safety techniques, set-up, bit selection, and maintenance of your router table. If you have ever thought about making your own custom moulding/trim then this class is a must. In fact, after some open discussion you will learn how a couple of bits can produce a variety of profiles. Then you will actually mill a custom piece of moulding/trim.
