Brad Point Drill Bit Index Set Imperial
Based on a one star review I visited my local Woodcraft store and examined these bits. Several bits are warped. Just simply take the bits and roll them on the counter and see for yourself. Shame on Woodcraft for selling them! Was Woodcraft bought out by Harbor Freight? The best set of brad point bits is by W.L. Fuller.

Brad Point Drill Bit Index Set Imperial
The larger bits are good. They cut clean, straight holes. As with other reviews, the smaller bits are not straight. I didn't discover this until several months after receiving them. This makes me wary of future purchases of Woodcraft branded products. There are enough negative reviews that Woodcraft should take note and get a vendor with better quality control.

Brad Point Drill Bit Index Set Imperial
I bought this thinking that it is a quality product, being sold here at Woodcraft. I was so wrong... Whoever packed this item failed to consider that a plastic bag of this weight will not protect the item. So, I received this item with its "durable" plastic storage case totally shuttered inside - bits were all out of place. I was shocked to find out the poor quality of the storage case. The case inside, holding the bits, are so brittle made out of a very cheap plastic. Imagine those clear plastic spoons - those spoons are probably 4-5 times stronger. There is no way the case can last more than a month of use. So coming from Woodcraft (did not expect precision item sold here coming from China), it is a very disappointing product that they endorsed. Now I have to question everything they sell. Right now my attitude is... why risk buying anything here? The bits? haven't had a chance to use it, but based on the reviews... and it being made in China - I believe the reviews. I also judged this product based on its very inferior storage case, not to mention how poorly they packaged it for delivery - a UPS plastic bag.

Brad Point Drill Bit Index Set Imperial
I got the email saying these were on sale. I got excited and put them in my cart, I was about to checkout and noticed the 3 star review. After reading the reviews I deleted these from my cart. 10 years ago I bought 2 sets of drill indexes from my local Woodcraft store before it closed. They were all also mostly crooked. So I am going to have to find another place to buy things that are not continually defective.

Brad Point Drill Bit Index Set Metric
I purchased this set in store. Brought it home and the *majority* of what I do I need an 8mm bit for so I was all set. They work fine, not great, not awful. They wander if you're a little too aggressive in the drill press. The problem came when I tried to make my first pen, which required a 7mm bit. To my surprised, they included a 2nd 6.5mm bit in lieu of a 7mm bit and just put it in the indexed spot for a 7mm bit. Took me *forever* to figure out what the problem was. Considering that the 3 most common sizes I need are 7, 8 and 10mm, that makes this set significantly less useful.

I purchased this set because it was one of the few metric bit sets I saw anywhere locally. I kept having trouble drilling out my 7mm pens and for the life of me couldn't figure out why. Turns out they shipped me 2 6.5mm bits instead of a 6 and a 7. They just put the extra 6.5 in the slot for the 7 and I failed to notice. Other than that it's an ok set of bits, wouldn't write home to mom about them, but can't poo-poo them either.

Brad Point Drill Bit Index Set Metric
I am a novice woodworker so I can only speak from a limited perspective. Having said that, I do know how to use a drill press and which bits are best for the correct material. Last night I used one of the small bits to drill pilot holes into rosewood. The 3.5 mm bit bent into about a 25-30 degree angle with the second hole and nearly damaged the wood. I was very surprised to say the least as it was the first time using these bits. For the cost, I am dismayed. I would consider adding brad points one-by-one until I have a better collection. Will be much more costly but you get what you pay for. I do not recommend these bits, not even for the price. I would recommend Woodcraft eliminating them given the poor quality.

These bits work great in my Jet drill press. The only thing is that some of the really small bits can snap. Other than that, this is a great buy for the price.
