Working With VCarve- Session IV

Thursday, February 6, 6 PM - 9 PM

Session 4 In this final class, students will learn about 3D carving, clipart, layers, and creating vector boundaries. In this class students will make a design that will incorporate the various skills learned throughout the series. Students are required to have completed Session 3 to take this course.

Intro to Pyrography (Wood Burning)

Sunday, February 9, 1 PM - 4 PM

Pyrography is the art of decorating wood with burn marks resulting from the controlled application of a woodburning pen. In this class the student will learn to use the basic tools for making artistic designs on wood, starting with several techniques for transferring designs to the wood. The student will also learn different pyrography skills such as stippling, shading, relief.

Epoxy River Table (2 Part Class)

Part 1: Sunday, February 16, 1 PM - 5 PM

Part 2: Sunday, February 23, 1 PM - 5 PM

This is a 2 part class, All students attend both dates. Tuition includes the 1st & 2nd date. In this class students will be introduced to the process of making an epoxy river table, including mold construction, slab preparation, and epoxy pouring. Several different epoxy options will be discussed, along with dye and dust coloring. In part one, students will build the mold, cut and treat the slab, and pour the river. In part two, students will be instructed on how to prepare their river table for an epoxy top coat using several power tools such as the table saw, jointer, various sanders, and router table. After preparing, the top coat will be poured and projects would be ready for pickup in about a day.
