Scroll Saw Intro 101

In this course the student will learn to identify the different types of scroll saws and blades while gaining an understanding of which blade is used for which material. The student will also learn the basic operating principles of the scroll saw including changing blade tension, blade speed, and table angle. Learning proper safety including basic shop safety, personal safety, and safe procedures using the scroll saw will be stressed. This is a hands on class where the student will learn how to make different types of cuts and make some simple projects that can be taken home.

Make a stand up puzzle of a star just in time for the Holidays! This puzzle design was published in the Winter 2022 issue of Scroll Saw Woodworking and Crafts Magazine. Tim, the designer of this pattern, will teach you how to attach a pattern, blade selection, cutting techniques, sanding techniques, finally you will color it with a quick drying yellow dye so you can take it with you that day.

Turning A Peppermill on the Lathe

In this hands on class each student will be shown how to turn a traditional pepper mill using a pre-drilled peppermill blank and then each student will turn a peppermill that they can take home. Students are encouraged, although not required, to bring their own tools for an easier transition of skills from class to your own shop.
