Beginning Pen Turning
with Brigham CookSaturday, March 29, 12 AM - 5 PM
This is a great introduction to turning wood on a lathe, with the end product being a pen to keep that you made yourself from start to finish. We cover the basics of safety, the parts of a lathe, lathe tools, and accessories, as well as everything you need to start making pens, magic wands, hairsticks, Christmas ornaments, and other turned creations! During the five-hour class, students in the class will learn how to select and cut wood pen blanks, drill and mount the blanks on the lathe, turn the pen barrels, apply finish, and assemble a pen. And the skills learned in this class will easily transfer to other projects.
