Here's a great way to get introduced to the wood lathe by learning how to turn a wooden whistle. If nothing else, you'll be able to make a unique and novel object that will help signal and announce your accomplishment. As always, having fun and making something with your own hands is an exciting way to spend a few hours with fellow wood workers.
Join us for a day of fun and informative class on box making taught by award-winning box maker Don Boudreau. You will design and build a compact keepsake box using a variety of exotic woods. Boxes can be functional as well as decorative and they make wonderful gifts. This class would be a good starter for someone wanting to get into some of the more advanced classes on box making.
In this class, students will make a wooden cutting board made from the lamination of several different species of wood that will be sure to dazzle family and friends. In addition, students will make a small bread knife that can be used along with the cutting board.
