Make a pen from start to finish. In this class you will cut the wood, drill the hole and glue in the tubes. You'll learn the lathe parts and use carbide tools and to turn a slim line pen with a friction polish finish.

CLS397- Scroll Saw Intro 101

In this course the student will learn to identify the different types of scroll saws and blades while gaining an understanding of which blade is used for which material. The student will also learn the basic operating principles of the scroll saw including changing blade tension, blade speed, and table angle. Learning proper safety including basic shop safety, personal safety, and safe procedures using the scroll saw will be stressed. This is a hands on class where the student will learn how to make different types of cuts and make some simple projects that can be taken home.

CLS397 - Custom Name/Word Puzzle With The Scroll Saw

Make a standup puzzle of any word or name. The instructor will provide you with "tiles" of letters that can be combined to form a word or name and a template for adding puzzle pieces that join the letters together. You will then attach this pattern to the wood and cut the wood with the scroll saw. Then you'll have time to sand and dye the puzzle. You'll leave with a set of the tiles and the puzzle piece template so you'll be able to make more puzzles on your own.
