The Basic Cabinet Class is a foundational woodworking course designed to equip beginners with the fundamental skills and knowledge needed to construct a Shaker style cabinet. The cabinet dimensions are 16" x 24" x 35". Throughout the course, students will learn essential techniques such as measuring, cutting, and using pocket holes to join wood to create functional and aesthetically pleasing cabinets. Throughout the class, students will be guided through the process of using a bandsaw to make all the cuts, gluing techniques, pattern alignment, flattening, and finishing techniques allowing participants to add a protective and food-safe coating to their cutting boards. By the end of the class, students will have gained valuable skills in woodworking and will take home their own custom-made stair step end grain cutting board, ready to use and display in their kitchen.
