Power Tool Fundamentals: Table Saw

This is a basic instructional class directed at one of the most useful tools in the entire shop: the table saw. Students will learn basic table saw safety and operation in-depth. Step-by-step, we will walk you through table saw setup, essential personal safety, care and control of the saw, table saw anatomy, blade selection and proper installation, calibration, and how to safely get the most out of this valuable tool. We will be working specifically with the SawStop, and we'll learn the features specific to SawStop technology. However, the processes we cover apply to all table saws, and this class is for students who wish to learn about all table saws in general. Students will have hands-on experience in class as they apply the principles learned. This is not a project class, but rather a comprehensive master class on table saw essentials. The Art of Shaker Oval Box Making: Raleigh Lockhart has been a skilled Shaker Box Maker for many years, and we are excited to be offering a class. Raleigh will begin the class by sharing the rich history and class overview of Shaker Oval Box Making. This will include History for Shaker Box Makers, Shop Safety, Tools used for the class and wood selection. We will then build three classic Shaker Bentwood Keepsakes - this is a great opportunity to learn this lost Art of Shaker Oval Box Making so you too can become a Shaker Box Maker!

3D Cutting Board

Sunday, November 8, 2026, 9 AM - 5 PM

This is a great opportunity to make a 3D cutting board using Alex Snodgrass's method. Using only three different woods - maple, cherry, and Peruvian walnut - Barry will show each student how to make a stunning 3D end-grain cutting board. He will begin by teaching each student how to tune a bandsaw to make perfect cuts. Students will then progress through techniques required to build a cutting board: how to make dead-on straight cuts and accurate angled cuts on the bandsaw, and how to plane, sand, glue, and clamp the cutting board. Topics to be covered include: bandsaw myths debunked, bandsaw mechanics, correct blade tension, accurate angle cuts, gluing techniques, end-grain pattern alignment, food-safe finishes, and care and maintenance of cutting boards. By the end of the day, each student will have a fantastic 3D cutting board made with their own hands! This class is designed for woodworkers of all skill levels. From the beginner to the advanced woodworker, every student will leave the class with a 3d cutting board and a smile on their faces! Register today - there is limited enrollment!
