Woodworking For Women

Part 2: Sunday, August 18, 9:30 AM - 3:30 PM

The goal of this weekend workshop is to provide a comfortable and safe environment for women of all ages to learn and improve their woodworking skills. Students will be instructed in the safe and effective use of power tools including:table saws, band saws, jointers, planers and sanding equipment. Projects to include a laminated cutting board and a tool box.

Introduction To Scroll Saws

Tuesday, September 3, 5:30 PM - 8:30 PM

The Class will begin with a discussion on scroll saw basics including saw, wood, blade and pattern selection. Projects for the class may include a personal name plate for your desk, puzzles, silhouettes and practice cutting patterns.

Lathe Turning Basics

Thursday, September 5, 1 PM - 4 PM

This class will explore turning fundamentals. Topics covered will include: safety, different types of lathes, construction, tool selection, wood selection and preparation, different types of cuts, spindle turning and finishing techniques. This is for someone who is new to wood turning..
