Jess Crow Intro to Resin Casting

Learn how to cast your own resin blanks in this fun class with Jess Crow, one of the nation's leading epoxy artistic woodworking innovators. Jess will guide students through the process of mixing colors and resin to create custom 2 x 2 x 6 blanks that can be used for turning projects or re-sawn into knife scales. This class will cover the basics of epoxy resin and each student will do one pour into a predetermined mold provided by Woodcraft. Wear closed-toe shoes and comfortable work clothing with no excessive fabric or loose jewelry. Students who are sensitive to smells should also bring a mask or respirator. You may want to bring paper and pencil to take notes.

Jess Crow River Style Serving Tray

Join Jess Crow, one of the nation's leading epoxy artistic woodworking innovators, for this brand new class where you will learn how to create a river style round. This round can be used as a clock, serving tray, Lazy Susan or more. Once you have the concept down you will be able to take this technique and turn it into a table of any size or shape. Jess will guide students through the river style process, including how you prepare a live edge slab*, how to save not only wood, but epoxy, creating a River Style project using Jess's "more is less" method, adding custom colors and designs, selecting and pouring the proper resin, and more! Students will have the option to select either handles or feet to their boards when they come back to pick up their projects. Wear closed-toe shoes and comfortable work clothing with no excessive fabric or loose jewelry. Students who are sensitive to smells should also bring a mask or respirator. You may want to bring paper and pencil to take notes. *Note about this class. The class will not be using a live edge slab, rather Jess's signature technique to conserve epoxy while having the look of a live river. During class there will be a complete walkthrough on how to build a live edge river table and a syllabus will be made available covering both techniques.

Jess Crow The Ultimate Epoxy Experience

Students who register for this 2-day class will receive 8+ hours of in depth instruction from Jess Crow, one of the nation's leading epoxy artistic woodworking innovators. Topics covered include using molds, making molds, mixing colorants and resin, conducting deep pours, de-molding projects, sanding, and applying a final epoxy finish. In addition to the extra time spent with Jess in a smaller class setting, all students will receive one of Jess' signature reusable resin molds to take home and use for future projects ($259.99 value)! Students will be working on two projects throughout this class. One will be a multi-layered pour that’s worked on over the two days. The second project, creating a live edge tray, will be done the first day of class and demolded the second day (weather and temperature permitting.) Students will be using TotalBoat ThickSet and TotalBoat MakerPoxy for these projects. Wear closed-toe shoes and comfortable work clothing with no excessive fabric or loose jewelry.
