Band Saw Basics

HANDS-ON. ATTENTION ANYONE THAT HAS A BAND SAW! Are you a beginner or old-timer and have a Band Saw and not sure if it is working just right? Then this is the perfect class for you. This class will begin at "step one" on Band Saw setup and tuneup. Wheel alignment, blade selection, blade installation, cool blocks vs bearing guides and fine tuning will all be covered. Each student will do a setup and then cut a piece of perfect veneer. DON'T UNDERESTIMATE THIS CLASS! It is a MUST TAKE for anyone, beginner or old-timer, that uses this great machine. Square Board Fundamentals

Friday, June 6, 6 PM - 10 PM

HANDS-ON. Got rough boards? Want to learn the simple steps needed to machine that board square, flat and the correct thickness to build something? Then this is the perfect hands-on class for you. Howard will teach the basics of wood technology and stock preparation. This fun, quick class will cover the use of the table saw, jointer and thickness planer. Students will also learn which side of the board should be used for the outside of the project and learn how to glue up a panel without it cupping. DON'T UNDER ESTIMATE THIS CLASS!!...it is a "MUST TAKE" for anyone buying rough cut lumber. This class fills quickly so, sign up A.S.A.P. Basic Woodworking

Part 1: Saturday, June 7, 9 AM - 6 PM

HANDS-ON. OUR MOST POPULAR CLASS!! ADULTS ONLY - NO YOUTH - 18 YEARS AND OLDER. This foundation course introduces you to the wonderful world of woodworking. You will learn how to set alignment and use the chop saw, table saw, jointer, planner, band saw, router table and a stationary sander. Safety will be emphasized with each machine. Each student will complete a hands-on project using basic joinery techniques. Types of wood and finishing techniques will also be discussed.
